I have been frustrated with the state of my electronic music performance infrastructure for some time – on stage, both my hands are busy doing cello related things, and so it falls to my deeply unmusical feet to do the all important musical controls!

In 2012, this doesn’t feel like an elegant solution to creating 21st century chamber music – imagine playing a Brahms Sonata, and having to turn to your pianist at every key musical junction to tell them what to do? Exactly.

goPlay is an early prototype of a generative performance app, built and developed with the clever chaps at Reactify Music. The app listens and responds, as simple as that. Videos and more to follow here, and on the dedicated site
