My Monday morning in music

I’m in a big John Adams kick right now, and last night heard (for the first time) Road Movies for violin and piano. It’s a terrifically spritely piece, one that I think must be immense fun to perform and an utter nightmare to learn..! If you don’t know it, don’t worry yourself - it’s on Spotify as a compilation of his relatively small “piano &…” output. (The keener viewer will be amused to see that it was released by Warner Strategic Marketing.) Taking the studio on stage

Yes, another live music rant. Don’t look so surprised. Other than learning some “standard” repertoire for the coming season, my spare time (haha) has been taken up with reworking Terminal for live performance. alt_classical & tickets to my album launch

I’m very, very excited about this. One of the main parts of my residency at The Hospital Club is going to be a year long concert series, “alt_classical“. Curated in conjunction with WildKat PR and The Hospital, we’ll be kicking off on April 7th at 7pm with the first live performance of Terminal, my Bowers&Wilkins album (it will only just have been released on April 2nd!)

5 years time.

The next 5 years will be massive, I think. Whether we are still set on selling an edition or whether we focus on an experience, one thing is for sure – we’ll still be listening to great music, so let’s get on with that and be prepared to roll with the changes.
